Welcome to the Aboriginal Resource Centre at the College of New Caledonia. We respectfully acknowledge that our Prince George campus is located on the unceded traditional territory of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation. We are grateful for their graciousness for welcoming knowledge-seekers to their territory.
Through our 5 regional campuses, we are proud to serve and build relationships with 22 First Nations across the region. Guided by the voices and traditions of the communities we serve, we are committed to creating spaces where Indigenous students feel seen, heard, and empowered to thrive.

The Aboriginal Resource Centre at the College of New Caledonia is committed to providing culturally safe, inclusive, and empowering support for Indigenous students. Through personalized services, resources, and a supportive community, we strive to create an environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and personally. We are dedicated to honouring Indigenous knowledge, traditions, and histories, while also promoting awareness, understanding and collaboration across all communities. By fostering partnerships and engaging in meaningful dialogue, we work together to build a future based on respect, reconciliation, and the shared pursuit of knowledge.
Aboriginal Resource Centre (ARC)
What We Offer
The Aboriginal Resource Centre (ARC) is a welcoming space dedicated to supporting Indigenous students throughout their educational journey at CNC - before, during, and after their studies.
We offer culturally safe services and facilities designed to foster academic success and personal well-being. Our team works closely with Indigenous communities and organizations to ensure students feel supported and connected.
At the ARC, You'll Find
- A supportive environment where staff offer encouragement, moral support, and a friendly listening ear whenever needed
- Opportunities to participate in culturally safe activities such as smudging, Elder visits, and workshops
- A drop-in Study Centre equipped with Tutors computers, and printers
- A shared kitchen equipped with a microwave, fridge, kettle and coffee station

Indigenous Student Housing
Nahoonai-a ("to find" or "to discover")
Indigenous students attending CNC have access to a culturally safe and familiar environment to call home. The fully furnished building is built next to existing student housing on the Prince George campus. In addition to the 12 rooms, two of which are accessible, there is a shared kitchen, living area, washrooms and laundry facilities. There is also a two-bedroom suite for an Elder, who will be a student mentor and adviser.
Important Dates
The ARC staff work in collaboration with CNC to host culturally relevant events and activities throughout the fiscal year to honour diversity and promote Aboriginal culture while we continue our healing journey in moving toward truth and reconciliation.
