How to Apply for Domestic Transfer Credit at CNC

If you have attended another Canadian institution and would like to transfer your credits to CNC, follow these steps:

Transfer credit will only be assessed once you have received an offer of admission to CNC.

To determine if your previous courses could be applied to your CNC program.

Official transcripts must be forwarded in a sealed envelope directly from the sending institution to the College of New Caledonia.

Fill out the transfer credit review form online and submit detailed course outlines for courses that have not been assessed by CNC in the past. Course outlines must be from the same semester/ month and year that you took the course and include the following information:

  • Comprehensive description of the course material covered;
  • Number of instruction/lab hours per week;
  • Semester length;
  • Grading profile.
    • Note: calendar descriptions are not sufficient for transfer credit evaluation.

Applicable fee(s) will be charged to your student account. You can pay them online through your CNC Connect Account or by contacting the Office of the Registrar at the number below.

How to Apply for International Transfer Credit

If you have attended an international institution and would like to transfer your credits to CNC, follow these steps:

Transfer credit will only be assessed once you have received notification that you have met your program's admissions requirements and have an offer of admission to CNC.

To determine if your previous courses could be applied to your CNC program. An academic advisor can help you determine if you should apply for transfer credit.

CNC recommends World Education Services (WES) or International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES), but any of the agencies listed on the Government of Canada's website can be used.

If the approved assessment agency sends a copy of your official transcript along with your comprehensive ECA, CNC will accept that as an official transcript.

If they do not send an official copy, students will have to provide an official transcript forwarded in a sealed envelope directly from the sending institution to CNC.

Fill out the transfer credit review form online and submit all course outlines/syllabi for the course(s) you wish to have reviewed. All outlines must be from the same semester/month and year that you took the course and include the following information.

  • Comprehensive description of the course learning objectives
  • Number of instruction/lab/lecture hours per week
  • Semester length
  • Grading profile

Note: Calendar descriptions are not sufficient for transfer credit evaluations.

International Transfer Fee $157.50 CAD

Once the application and all supporting documents (ECA, official sealed transcript, and outlines) have been received the applicable fee will be charged to your student account. You can pay online through your CNC Connect account, or by contacting the Office of the Registrar at the number below.
